hello! My name is alice, I'm 18 years old and I'm going to travel around the world for some weeks with my friend Ebba, I'll try to write as often as I can here to tell you about my experiences!

We started the trip on the 9th of October, 11:40 am We took the train from Gothenburg to copenhagen, arriving 3:28 Pm.We both bought interrail cards for 269 €, plus 1€ for thief protection some weeks before this and it works in this way that you can be gone for 22 days, but you can only travel on 10 days during that time! It was the cheapest one we found, and it seem to work great! We had to change train to a train to one to Hamburg, but we had half an hour In Copenhagen before so we went out the central station to look a bit at the city. It was a beautiful city with large stone houses and a lot of people. Something I noticed is how well dressed everyone was, it's a really fashionable city with great shopping streets and a famous fashion week once a year I heard a lot about, who apparently is the largest Fashion event in Scandinavia! Unfortunately, the fashion week is on the early spring, so we totally missed it, but I would love to experience that some time! We lost track of time talking to some Danish girls telling us about the traditional food in Denmark vs Sweden, haha I know that's so random! Anyway, we had to run to the hamburg train that left 4 pm. We caught it in time! The train was really slow but we decided to eat some German Nürnberger Bratwurst on the train, the restaurant was a big disappointment but the sausage was SEHR GUT 😉 We arrived 8:34 pm and I was really hungry so we went to the nearest restaurant possible, who happened to be a Spanish amazing place called "restaurant Porto Marin". I ate this yummy Spanish ham thingy, called something with jamón which I knew was ham cus I know some Spanish. I know absolutely no German though what so ever, which happened to be a big mistake when you travel to Germany, they suck at English! They are very friendly though so I didn't matter that much...

We were really tired after this so we cough a cab and went directly to our hostel that we got recommended by a friend of mine. Our luggage was really heavy as well so it was nice to finally have a place to sleep. Our hostel is called St. Pauli and was really worth the price, just remember to have cash when you get there because they don't accept card....

Yesterday, the 10th of October we decided to go to a concentration camp called buchenwald. We went up reeeeeally early to catch the 5:41 o'clock train, so we arrived in time. Something that we didn't know was that you had to bring warm clothes, the temperature was down to 8 degrease In the tunnels! We were lucky enought to have ok suitable clothes, but a family who also went to the free guided tour with us at 11 o'clock was unfortunate enough to only bring thin sweaters!

The hole experience at buchenwald was amazing, you couldn't stop the tears for coming at times and i learned a lot about the Second World War. The only thing I have to complane about is the cafe, it was really dull and the food was expensive and not tasty at all! The cafe closed at 5 so that was when we left. We found a really nice forest that we took a walk in until the train arrived 7:09 in a different trainstation then before. We sleept on the train Back to Hamburg and arrived 7:55 this morning.

Today we have only been walking around, having a great time in Hamburg! We wanted to get to know the city and I have to say, I love it! I have only been to Berlin before in Germany but I'm totally in love with this country! Both me and ebba had sat each other up on blind dates this evening just for fun. I arrived at this restaurant 7 o'clock to meet this cool German guy-I thought. When I arrived I realized that this place was a really expensive high-end restaurant, and the guy I dated was 7 years older then me and a really boring conservative dude. He said some real sexist things so I just ate the really expensive food- that was really weird By the way I have to say- and went to the toilet and left through the window, hahaha. I called ebba who was finished with her date and was as disappointed as I was and we went clubbing at "club FrauHedi" instead and had the time of our life!! We met some cool guys and spent the evening with them, who will by the way show us around tomorrow! Now I feel really evil and I think I will have to call the dating guy, even if we didn't get along and apologies... I don't remember his name though, maybe I'll call the expensive restaurant and ask them, I believe it was called tschebull or something like that.... Well well, we have to see where this adventure goes next, I'll write on this blog again next week and tell you a bit about my experiences! Sleep tight!
