St Michaels Kirche
View of St Michaels Kirche from the top of St Nicholas Kirche Today was another amazing day in the city! I got a late start (SOMEONE woke up late...) and Joe came over around 11:30, 12. Bryan was waiting for Mike who was just gettin in the shower, and I had already been waiting for hours... so we decided to split up. I went with Joe and later on Bryan and Mike went off together too. Joe and I took the U Bahn to Jungfernstieg. When you take the stairs up from the station the view is absolutely breathtaking.. all you see is water, right in front of you, boats, etc. Its not a dock, but its just indescribable. I forgot to take a picture of it, but maybe tomorrow.
We got breakfast/lunch at one of the few places that were open, then walked around.. alot. We made our way to St. Nicholas Church which is amazing. It was destroyed by WW2, however the part that still stands has an elevator in the middle which takes you up 70 meters to almost the top. You can see its war wounds, which is sad, as some of the towers you can obviously tell have smoke damage. That was amazing.. we walked around
Angel on Earth
Statue right outside St Nicholas Kirche some more, ended up back by das Rathaus and by the canals and bridges... its such an amazing place.
We caught the U Bahn back to Berliner Tor (my stop) and went back upstairs to watch Scary Movie 2. After that, just an hour ago, we called it a night because we both have work and school in the morning.. and we mustve walked the URI campus at least 10 times today. Fun, but exhausting day. Tomorrow I get to go to my first day at Colon Language School with the boys and that should be interesting.. especially since I have to make my way back alone, since they want to go somewhere together. Its now time for Tylenol PM and sleep. Night!
Love, J
