One of the worst genocides that took place was the Holocaust which was the mistreatment and violence toward the jews. The main reason why this genocide happend was because of germany's leader at the time who was Adolf Hitler. Germany was going through rough times because of the war that they were in. Adolf hitler decided to make the Jews the scapegoats of their problems. They decided to prosocute the jews and put them in concentration camps. They made all the Jews wear the star of david. In the camp the Jews were beaten, humiliated and murdered. At the end the people of the concentration camps put all the jews in a big oven to burn them. Most Jews died naturally or other reasons. The key events of this genocide wa the exiling of the Jews, making the jews wear the star of David, building camps for the jews, The death toll was 6 million people. At the end hitler was losing the war so he committed suicide. The historic significance was that it was one of the worlds most hateful acts. It also shows how a leaders ideas can affect some people badly
