Hey folks!

Had a comparatively late start today - so far our usual slobby ways have been left in Harrogate - but we still managed to get into the centre before midday though. We ended up having ham and salami baguettes for brekky again..we're practically Germans now!

Had a wander past the gold statue which acts as the centre of the lurve parade. We were pleasantly surprised to discover a huge fair-shindig thingy going down by the Reichstag and Brandenburg gate, with groovy 60s (Doo wah diddy was a personal fave!- sam) cover band. As today is the 15th anniversary of the reunification of Berlin, we did our bit by having some Bratwurst.

Then we went to the new Jewish memorial by Brandenburg gate- we wer'e a little unsure of what it was at first as it wasn't there when sam or Dan visited, but then we remembered the comment left by Mrs S. so thanks for that! After a quick coffee in postdammer platz we had a wander past checkpoint Charlie before going to the Jewish museum (the one by the guy who is designing the world trade centre). We thought the physical representations of the Jewish plight were particularly thought-provoking.

A big theme of the day has been Dan's and Sam's constant updates on their various manky ailments - both have mozzy bites that they feel need running commentary on throughout the day, anyway that's my 2 cents worth, I'm off to start the day as I started and sulk because I've just discovered the Liverpool result, GGGRRRRRRRR, ta ta, Ben.

So heaps more pics to show you guys, and probably loads more by tomorrow wen weve taken in some more sights.

Catch ya later

Sam Ben and Dan :o)

P.s. Does anyone know the German for mosquito???

Think you will get away with der Moskito and would try that as die Stechmucke is a bit of a mouthful. Feeling quite sorry for you Ben what with the football and living with the diseased ones. I'm very impressed if you have all been up and at 'em each day and seeing all the sights. Look forward to seeing any photos when technology allows. Got your insurance details last week and feel you might need them but not sure how to pass them on to you. Tried txt but uess thats not working. Could I send them via your own e-mail address? Verena/Philipp's Mum was telling me about the public holiday to celebrate the re-unification so am getting it from lots of angles! She also said about the rain-pity that as it has been non-stop fabbo here. Got to be some compensation for having to be at the coal face. and there goes the bell so like Pavlov's dog off I trot. Keep up the good work Ben as I'm really enjoying the updates. And thanks for your contributions Dan and Sam. Lots of love Mum/Debbie
