the autopsy room where they cut up everyone who died to diagnose them with one of seven possible deaths. if i wanted to be distasteful but also be truthful i would call this diagnosis murder.

my audio guide told me that at night prisoners secretly practiced chamber music here. they set their music on the slab and played pieces smuggled in or transcribed from piano scores

this was one of the first concentration camps, and it was used as a model for many others. it has an interesting history, because during the war only 20% of the prisoners, at the maximum, were jewish. also, after the war, it continued to function as a concentration camp of sorts for other prisoners for several more years. it was called the 'special camp.'
