At least the sight is a little bit better than yesterday.
Fog and rain are not as bad as yesterday. Sight is probably 200 metres today. But still, it is raining, you can’t see the top of Tegelberg. So one more day without a task.

Yesterday, we walked up to the Drehhütte in a big group, which is about 300 metres below the top of Tegelberg. There were about 20 pilots that did the 1.5 hour walk. Benno had organised a bus for all those who are not fit enough to make it to the restaurant by foot. So we all met in the restaurant and had lunch together, with about 25 people. It was good fun. Afterwards, some caught the bus to ride back to the bottom of the hill, others hiked up to the top of Tegelberg and caught the cable car down. Klaus and I walked down. When we arrived back in the apartment, I tried to do some work, but I was so tired that I decided it would make a lot more sense to just do a nap.

In the evening, we went out for dinner with the Austrian team. We went to a very nice Indian restaurant in Füssen. Very good food, really. Afterwards,

we wanted to have a drink in a bar here in Schwangau, but the waiter there told us that they would close at midnight. So we had a beer and went back to Füssen to another bar. But at 1, they also closed. So we had no choice, had to go home and go to sleep.

Everybody here is still in a good mood, we are pretty good at keeping ourselves entertained. But of course we are asking ourselves why this date was chosen. This time of the year (11th till 15th of May) is called the time of the “Eisheiligen” (icemen), which means that it is a time in the year in which it is usually cold and rainy. The Austrians told us yesterday that this is a time of the year which they would never ever even think about holding a comp in. The Pre Worlds were around the same time last year, and there was not a single flyable day. So we really don’t understand why the organisers chose this time of the year again. Anyway, I’m happy to be with everyone, and I’m still keeping my fingers crossed for a couple of flyable days. We
