ASIA: 1 month
For the interested parties I will give a run down of our travels so far. I landed in Bangkok and met up with Alana, Ian and Jackie. We caught a sleeper train up into Northern Thailand to a city called Chaing Mai. We went on elephant rides, hill tribe trecks and bamboo rafting river trips. We also hired scooters and rode through the mountains (147km and 764 turns) to a town called Pai (little bit like Byron Bay). We went to mauy thai fights and check out the old city with liz.
Following this week we bussed it up to Chang Kong on the border of Thailand and Lao.
Here we caught a slow boat down the mighty mekong river for two days...it was amazing. This brought us into Lao where we spent a week chilling out. We went tubing in vang vien (tubing: floating down a river where there are bars you drink at and have flying foxes and big dance sessions) It was pretty crazy!! From Lao we jumped on trains and ferries and made it down south to the island of koh samui. Met up with DJ price AKA plugga and his crew of misfits!! shot fireworks, went swimming and drinking....good times!! Full moon party was intense! Saw people catch on fire, fireworks blow up on people..our kind of fun. Flew back up to Bangkok for some shopping and busted a move to europe!! (ask about the thongs)
EUROPE:
Days worth of flying got us into paris where we had to cross the city to get our flight out to Norway. Flew into Oslo where we were met by cousin robbie and his now wife naomi. It was cold!!!!!!! about -4. The next day the wedding people including paul and alana hoped on a bus and went about one hour out into the mountains

Dinner with friends!! for a weekend of snow activities, good company, great food and wedding celebrartions. See photos...it was amazing. Paul and Alana went with the wedding party and caught a flight up to a town called Trompso (which is up in the article circle..still in norway) The sun does not rise at this time of the year and we were treated with the northern lights!!! After a couple of days we made it back to Oslo and flew over to Berlin tio meet up with Jackie and Ian.
Berlin was great and Ian gave us a special berlin tour. We walked the berlin wall and saw buildings with bullet holes in them. Checked out the site where hitler died and the old SS headquaters...saw some amazing grafitti and was stoked how grundgy the city is. We hired a SUV and boosted down the Autobarn (cruzing speed of 160km top speed of 190km) Stopped at Dresden and had a loose night with Ians cousin Lucas. Made it down to a small down south of munich, right at the bottom of the german alps. Skied the german alps for a day. It was -15 that day!!! We have spent a week down here

Wonderful photos
Thanks Paul and Alana for keeping me up to date with your travels- you are so lucky to be able to see so many beautiful sights and share those experiences. The picture of the Northern lights was exceptional- definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity!! You are seeing places with so much history- your notes about Berlin are making John B envious- he would love to be there and visiting those significant landmarks of the German Reich. I hope you get an opportunity to visit some museums and art galleries while you are in Europe. Take great care of each other and of course Ian Love Mum
