One day down! We went to Nürnberg today and surprisingly all went very well. First thing we went to an Internet Café because we found a few flaws in our planning - like no address of booked hostel etc. Then we found lockers and chucked our massive backpacks (mine 14 kg, Sam's 18 kg) - yes we are mad Backpackers - in. We then made our way to the toy museum through the very cute old town of Nürnberg. Every street is called something with König or Kaiser! The toy museum was a bit overrated it was rather boring. From the museum we went up the hill to the pretty little castle - also very cute. It had red-white-red window shutters and on the wooden door we spotted the Austrian flag plus eagle! All of Nürnberg's buildings have these weird pattern on it and some are colourful - like pink - very pretty. Then we walked down the steep Burgstraße to catch a bus to the Reichparteitagsgelände. We walked around the lake and saw the Nazi-Conference-Hall which was massive like an arena but looked very derro indeed. There was old cars and shit chilling everywhere and it was scary. It was
a chronic walk around the lake (like an hour and a half) with all those unfinished Nazi things (stadium, road etc.) that one could tell would have been humoungous if finished. Also started raining and I put on my very stylish poncho. We went back to the train station via tram and got money out and bought dinner and also lunch for tomorrow at Aldi, which was very cheap! I bought Sam a book and another one for me. Then we sat down at some park near the station after getting our backpacks from the lockers. There was so much police in the park, searching and arresting and fining everyone - except us. Finally, we had dinner at the platform and then just waited for our train. On our way to Berlin now on a night train. Good first day this was! 😊
