Despite all the warnings we had been given this would turn out to be one of only two celebrations we saw that night. And compared to American and British celebrations this was all very tame.

The disgusting seagulls were having a better night of rowdiness and mayhem than any of the Nurnbergers. The river was full of these winged rats. When Gail tossed a crusty piece of bread in the water it looked like a blizzard was descending on us.

This bird thought we were holding out on him. He hovered much too close for comfort threatening to re-enact the bombing of Nuremberg on our heads.

Returning to Karl's Bruckla for dinner we both ordered the exact same dinners and drinks as the night before. No partygoers. no crowds, no customers but us and one other table. If we had stayed another night we'd probably would have done the exact same thing again.

I was highly entertained and educated by a circa 1980 instructional TV show teaching English. The German stereotype of Americans was one of drawling Texans or New York Guidos. The poor Germans watching had to try to interpret English I could barely understand.
