01 St Michael's
St Michael's church where the body of King Ludwig II is buried, although his heart is elsewhere due to Bavarian tradition. Geo: 48.1391, 11.5802
When I arrived back in Munich, I headed to the old town. I was a bit disappointed that all the shops were closed because of Easter. Was thinking about getting some Birkenstocks. Walked into St Michael's Church where King Ludwig II is buried. Went to the Cathedral of Our Lady, as I wanted to go up one of the twin towers for a view of the city. Couldn't find the entrance to the tower, so I assumed it was closed because of the Easter weekend. Instead I went to St Peter's church, which is the oldest church in the inner city of Munich. I climbed up the 92 metre tower and from here I could see most of the old town and their buildings which now looked familiar to me. Continued to walk around, having rests and enjoying the warm, sunny weather.
