So, I’m obviously not going to be around this year for Christmas which is always fun for me finding presents for you all whether it be something you truly need, something you really want, or something you mentioned eight months ago that I happened to jot down so I’d remember. Anyhoo, this is my Christmas Wish List for my family and friends (if you’re not on it, maybe its because I got you something already 😊 I hope you enjoy your presents:
Mom - a market for your jewelry, I know it’s out there, we’ll find it (oh, yeah my mom makes beautiful jewelry, check it out: ijustgotback.etsy.com . . . shameless promotion, maybe, but it is beautiful and she loves making it more than I’ve ever seen her love something she’s made)
Dad - a perfect day of perfect waves, I’m thinking there’s an underwater volcano near Salmon Creek that sends the ideal full-day set of waves and also warms the water to about 90 degrees for the day because of the lava movement (clearly I didn’t take your Marine Science course, buts its fun to imagine)
Marg - an entire Christmas tree decorated with ornaments made
from Swarovsky crystal. I think of you every time we pass a store.
Michael - a transporter beam so that you can get to all the places you need to in the world and still be home in time for dinner with Mom
Chrissy - an unlimited travel ticket to explore the world, the ability to speak every language (still an awesome super power) so you can get around wherever you are, and a partner to love you as much as you love life
Cher - unlimited paid vacation so we can go play whenever we want to 😊
Matt - a professor that doesn’t drive you insane, and an editor who reads some of your writing and hires you on the spot. Oh and someone who doesn’t piss you off.
Cory - a passport . . . wait . . . a ticket to London . . . wait . . . a good job . . . wait . . . a cute girlfriend . . . hmm . . . an awesome best friend . . . dammit! Ok how about a chance to meet the entire 1985 San Francisco 49ers team
. . . at Disneyland.
Roy - a girlfriend that doesn’t drive you, or all of us, crazy. Oh and a job in San Francisco.
DangerBob - a hero-creating event, like where you save someone from a fire, catch a thief, or rescue someone from a car accident. And at the end of it, before the paparazzi get your name and deem you a real-life “hero,” a woman, the perfect woman, DangerWoman!, who runs over and kisses you just because she can.
Becca - a trip to Rome. I know you need one. Rome cures all!
Jen and Alex - Pleo, cause then I could come over and play with her all the time!
Sway - a much-needed cousin day, make that week, where we all have time off to travel, laugh, and play like we used to when we were kids
Anne - a cat as cool as Ducky that will keep you company when I come home to reclaim him
Mikey - the chance to play with Dave Matthews, even if just for a few songs
Joe, Jordan, Ro, and mystery baby - for the nurse, the teacher, the infant,
and the soon-to-be in existence . . . health, undying love, and continued happiness. And good set of waves for Joe.
Red - a whole classroom of little kids who start at your toes, work their way up, and simultaneously fall over as they try to look at the top of your head
Liz and Ashley - a horse ranch with a dozen already trained, healthy horses
John - a high paying job with a short work week . . . wait . . . don’t you already have that?!? You need what Roy’s getting.
Louie and Caleb - walkie-talkie rings so you can laugh with each other round the clock . . . they also double as flashlights!
Geoff - you need what John has, a high paying job with a short work week, and possibly a Balmers sweatshirt 😉
Anna - a fashion-show dedicated to your creations that premieres around the world and lets you go on a worldwide vacation/business trip
Hector - a woman, who loves Jaegar, is turned on when you sing “Sweet Child of Mine” and whom all your friends adore
Rik and Celine - tickets to
San Francisco so Celine can have sushi that doesn’t make her sick and she can see how truly delicious it is
Rob and Carl - an unlimited supply of cheap duty-free American booze, or constant visitors who hit up the duty-free store for you and only stay for a night
Joanie, Suzi, Kimba, and Ed - sanity, an espresso machine, and a four-day work week (Joanie, a 2-day one for you 😊
Jenni - a real owl, to watch over the house, and play with Ruby when she’s bored
Annemarie - a Thriller 21st birthday party! Oh wait . . . you’re getting that in two months 😊
Melina - your dream job, whatever that may be, somewhere between a cross of a traveling wine-taster/supermodel hotel reviewer. I’m still working on the details.
Alex - a house and a job in Hawaii. No I don’t want you to leave and go that far, but I know deep in your heart you do.
Scott - a job that actually challenges all of your expertise and truly fulfills you
Christina - complete and total acceptance, especially from the people who you’ve worked so hard
to earn it from
Nicki and Sean - a vineyard of your very own that’s actually in Italy so you can spend the rest of your days relaxing and making wine as you see fit.

Cory and Mark - a publisher who loves your books and makes you the number one bestseller within a week.
Sarah - one quiet day where not a single one of your students is allowed to talk the entire day
Shelley - an unlimited plane ticket between Chico and Dublin, I’m working on it 😊
Jamie - a two-week vacation to Kauai. The first week just for you and Jim, the second for the boys to come and play too.
Peggy - a hassle-free completely paid-off home you can call your own without anyone jacking up the rent or trying to drive you out.
Lizard - another trip to Nepal, or maybe Singapore, I haven’t decided yet.
Gina - George Clooney. Enough said.
And to Brian - oh yeah . . . like its going to be that easy 😉
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
