Hi!! Okay so I'm going to try and get caught up with all my blogs!

OKTOBERFEST in Munich was simply wild. We caught an 8AM bus to Munich. It is around an 8 hour bus ride to Munich. We actually almost missed the bus, we had to run for it, but we made it! On the bus, we had one stop - Katie and I went to the bathroom. We also stopped to buy a snickers, so we were walking towards the bus, and it went a little something like this:

Susan: Do you remember which one our bus is?
Katie: It's one of those over there?
Susan: Is it that one... that's driving away?
Katie: No.. it can't be.
Susan: Katie, I think that's our bus
Katie: No... no it's not, karen wouldn't let them leave without us.
Susan: Katie... I really think it's our bus.
Katie: I know Karen and she would be throwing a fit, it's not.
Susan: KATIE RUN!!!!!!!

So we ran after our bus and they stopped and let us on. It was pretty exciting, we had a lot of energy after that.

Once we arrived in Munich, it was only a

short wallk to our hostel. It was 20 euro a person per night (we stayed 2 nights) and we had 8 people and only two beds. (It was really expensive so we only got 2 beds). So we pushed the beds together and four people slept on the beds for one night, the other slept on the floor, and then the second night they were suppose to switch. We're young... we can sleep on cold tile floors.

The first day, we just went and walked around Oktoberfest and then we went to dinner at the Augustiner beer hall. While we were eating dinner, a Spanish man came over and sat down with us. He was an older gentleman and he brought his father... who was even older. Well they started buying us rounds... until we told them we had to go.

The next morning is when we really experienced Oktoberfest. We woke up early and went and stood in line for a beer hall by 8AM. They usually open at 9 or 9:30. People are already drunk, or drinking heavily, and pushing. We waited for a long time and I guess there were actually two doors to our

beer hall and they opened the other doors so we didn't get in. It seats thousands of people and it literally is filled after 5 minutes. So we just grabbed a table outside and started ordering beers at 9AM. Some Englishman in Mexican outfits - mustaches, ponchos, mexican music, and sombreros came over and sat with us. They were a riot.

Oktoberfest in itself is pretty cool. There is food everywhere. People actually dress in Laderhosen and Dundles (or whoever you pronounce the girls outfits) - and not just workers, the actual customers do too. There were roller coasters and games. People buy and where these gingerbread cookie hearts wrapped in seran wrap around their necks.

We had a really fun time. Everyone is extremely friendly and talkative. I was able to talk to people from East and West Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria. Everyone is so willing to talk and answer questions. It was sooo much fun! We never left our original table we started at. People just kept coming and going. Being a girl is nice because guys like to buy girls drinks. We were bought pretzels and beers (obviously we watched the waiter bring them

out and give them directly to us), and one guy even bought Katie a hat that was in the shape of a beer keg. Sarah Miers even signed a pretend non aggression pact with some Italian boys.

We made it back to our hostel in one piece. Our hostel was actually probably 200M from oktoberfest so it was extremely convenient. We caught a bus back to Berlin (another 8 hours) and we were finally home!!! It was a really fun weekend!
