Viking Sigrun sailed overnight from Basel to Breisach in Germany. In the process the river cruise ship traversed the Grand Canal d'Alsace (Rheinseitenkanal). Breisacher Münster St. Stephan. The church dates from the 12th century and was expanded and remodeled in the Gothic style in the 15th century. "On the highest point in town (745 ft.) rises the Minster of St. Stephen, a cruciform edifice, recently restored. The choir (supported by an open substructure), the S. tower, and the W. half of the nave are Gothic, dating from the 14th cent.; the transept and N. tower are Romanesque."--Baedeker 1911. DSC_0786
