The oppressive conditions under which yesterday"s entry was produced
There's not much to say about today (although it's only 4:15 as I write, so who knows what may yet transpire) - I slept in, wandered down to the lake where I enjoyed the cooling breeze from my bench in the shade while I watched other tourists amble about, and then retreated to the air conditioned comfort of my hotel room for a snooze as the day started heating up.
In keeping with the theme of things breaking down (including me - my legs feel really dead today), yesterday's heat seems to have melted the glue holding my sandal sole to its 'upper', which further hampered exploring, and my camera has begun acting strangely as well. This is in addition to further degradation of its sensor that has resulted in the 'smudges' you may have noticed in some shots against light backgrounds, and this has limited what I can successfully take pictures of today. Update at 9:09:
I will mention, though, that having even just a burger and fries at a faux English pub is a wonderful dining experience here. Heck, the carrot I bought and ate today was great. I love the food, I just wish they
