Baron de Montesquieu was born in January 18, 1689. He was a French social commentator and a political think and lived during the Age of the Enlightenment. I choose Baron de Montesquieu because he influence the American government because he believed the ideas of a division of state and separations of powers. He influenced turn the society to a democracy but still feel that the people were not equal. In other words, he hope that the knowledge of the laws of government would lessen the problems of society. If the government have different section then one group would not have all the power. As like today, we now have three branches of government: legislative, executive, and judicial. He thought these were the best way to protect liberty. Each branch has its own roles to assure that the rights of citizen will not be ignore. If Baron didn't have the idea of the three branches then today America would not run smoothly as it is.
