Picnic lunches! I woke up this morning at 10:26 am. I'm not even sure how I got back into bed last night, but I had fun so that is all that matters! We had a hike to the "top of the world" scheduled for 10:30 am. My initial thought was to skip it, as I had about 2 minutes to get ready, and I was very hungover. But then I thought better of it and lugged myself out of bed, threw on some clothes, and met everyone outside. We got wicker baskets with a picnic lunch that the reps at the chateau had prepared for us. Inside were baguettes, ham, cheese, water, and even Mars Bars! My favourite! The hike started out okay, but then it became quite steep and rocky. I definitely wasn't wearing hiking shoes, but I managed. On the way up I walked in a group with Debs, Colleen, Emma (from Australia), Rosi, and Sam. We all had to take turns carrying the picnic lunch as it got very heavy after a while. I was glad I had decided to go on the hike because it was a gorgeous day today and it was nice to be getting some exercise.

Beaujolais It made the hangover feel much better! During the hike we walked through a typical French village, which was very quiet, almost like a ghost town.
During the hike up the "tallest hill in France" I began to realize I definitely needed to get back in shape! And acquire some good shoes. These flats were not covering it! Eventually our group managed to make it up to the top, even though we got lost on the way somehow. We even had a map and a dog named Baxter leading the way. Once at the top we were finally able to relax and enjoy the incredible views. The majority of the group had come on the hike today, so we all hung out together for a while and ate our packed lunches. All I can remember were the delicious baguettes yummm!
Soon we made our way back down to the Chateau and relaxed around the grounds. There was a big pool so a few of us went down to cool off with a swim and (at least I was trying to) get a tan. It ended up getting so hot that I decided to head back to my room

Views from the tallest hill in France! to catch up on my journal and I ended up falling asleep and having a three hour nap! Guess I needed that after last night.
Dinner was at 7 pm, and I nearly missed it (being asleep). Tonight's dinner was awesome - ribs with some kind of amazing sauce, and fries. I was late so I had to sit at the rowdy boys table haha. After dinner I hung out in my room with Jill, Chloe, Teresa, Bri, and Laura (the latter two are both from Australia). There was a lot of gossiping going on! It seemed like quite a few people on our tour were beginning to get to know each other a lot better 😉 This tour seemed to be quite different from my last tour in that respect, not necessarily in a bad way, but I wasn't too interested in getting caught up in that kind of drama. Another noticeable different was that Australians dominated our tour group, and everyone else was either from Canada, the United States, or New Zealand. On my last tour there were people from South Africa, the UK, Fiji, Singapore, Malaysia, and Korea, and very few Australians.
I ended up

Relaxing at the pool falling asleep around 10:30 pm. Barcelona tomorrow!
What did I learn today? Sparkly gold flats are not a replacement for hiking shoes!
