The weather finally broke today, the temperature dropped and in dull and wet weather we drove westwards and then south into the high Pyrenees and the small town of Arreau which is in the heart of the area through which the Tour de France passes each year. We had intended to stop there but as we had time we decided to drive over the pass of the Col d’Aspin to the village of Ste-Marie-de-Campan where we found a pleasant campsite to give us the opportunity of charging and batteries and having the electric heating on all evening.
