It rained most of the night and was still pouring when we got up, but we decided to move on and headed for Sarlat which has the reputation as being the most impressive medieval town in the area.

As the weather was so bad we decided it was a good day for a long lunch and we found a super restaurant with excellent food and a cheap menu. The meal was even further improved by a interesting conversation with the French couple on the next table.

The afternoon was brighter and we wandered about the narrow cobbled streets looking at the important buildings using a walking guide provided by the tourist office.

The night was spent at a farm site on the river just outside Beynac-et-Cazenac.
