It rained most of the day, so we visited the Vezere valley and went underground.

The Vezere valley has the greatest concentration of prehistoric sites in Europe and we went to two of the caves to see some of the paintings created over 15,000 years ago. First of all it was Grotto de Font- de-Gaume and then Lascaux II which although spectacular is a copy as the original was being destroyed by the number of visitors.

We stayed the night at Montignac in the northern part of the valley.
