Chamonix
Group at dinner: Monday, Lu, CK, Baz, Marty, Bruce, Mel, Ange & Denim A friend of mine at work had organised a 4 day ski/boarding trip to Chamonix, France for the end of January 2006 and as luck would have it, two people weren’t able to go. So I thought, what better way to introduce Baz to boarding than with a bunch of Saffa’s that he’s never met before! Luckily for us, most of them were beginners too. And as bigger luck would have it, Party Marty was itching for some snow time and decided to join us on a whim.
The first day was a pretty painful for both of us. But even though I’d been for 3 days a year before, Baz very quickly overtook me and was looking far more comfortable on the board than I was.
The days were spent frustrated the nights were spent boozing it up in the very comfortable apartment we had. We ventured out a couple of nights and found that this little town actually had a pretty good nightlife.
Thanks to 3 days of lessons from a French dude who decided my name was Chamonix, by the end of the trip we had managed to find the leg, back and stomach muscles
