In 1162, an ancient tomb containing an unidentified body was found at Rocamadour, France. Shortly thereafter, the legend of St. Amadour developed. He had been a servant of Jesus' mother and later married St. Veronica whose claim to fame was to wipe Jesus' brow during his march to the crucifixion.
