Drink in the atmosphere, enjoy our included picnic lunch and explore the French countryside - the choice is your.

Walked to 'the top of the world' today. Woke up at 8 and had breakfast of some weird scrambled eggs that had potato and fatty ham in them, yoghurt and muesli, then began our hour long journey. We walked through the vineyards to a quaint little town called Thieze, where we stopped to use the bathroom. Finally got to the top at about 11, with mud everywhere. It was freezing. We had our packed picnic lunches of baguettes with fromage, ham and tomatoes, and fruit. We'd bought wine from the bar at the chateau, but most people were too hungover to have any. The view was magnificent, looking over the vineyards with villages in between. Walked back down to Thieze a much steeper track which was also much quicker and less muddy. Ran into Amanda and Marty at the pub, La Feuillee, who were going to meet us up the top but Amanda had lost their map on the way and they weren't sure where to go from there. Got back to the chateau and heaps of people had naps, I sat around by the pool (which is closed as it's too cold yet) chatting to Briohny and Jana.
Everyone surfaced at 6 for dinner - spicy chicken with roasted potato and veges, then sorbet for dessert, then we went upstairs and played Kiwi asshole (apparently we'd been playing Canadian Asshole in Paris) with 11 people and 4 decks of cards, so it took over half an hour for one hand. Finished off my rose from lunch, then little matty took us to explore the secret cave he found leading under the vineyard. Him and Carson had been in there in the afternoon and gone about 100m and not found the end. They're convinced that it links up to all the other chateaus in the area. They'd got caught in there in the afternoon by a rep and got into trouble, so of course this made it more exciting for them and I think that pretty much everyone in the group had been in there by the time we left. Went to the cave at about 10, but no one was really up for a big drinking night with such a big travel day tomorrow. I had a desperado
