6 Months Working in Provence

At the start of May me and Steph started working for a cycling and hiking travel company called Headwater.

We picked up the work van in Geneva and drove down to our new apartment set in a cherry orchard amongst scorpions and snakes.

We got to know the area, visiting the countless quaint little villages and enjoying the beautiful vinyard ridden scenery.

For the job we met all the hoteliers, tested the bikes, checked the walking routes and got ready for the start of the season. Our day to day tasks involved picking clients up from the train station and moving their luggage, so nothing too taxing and the majority of the customers were really lovely people, generally well cultured and traveled.

The 6 months went by without any problems and we enjoyed living in France, experiencing a different side to when you just visit.

The colours of the flowers really stood out for me, we had every colour in the rainbow represented at some stage in the season and the locally grown food was delicious.

I had my Corn Flakes on my birthday, when me and a friend cycled into the mountains - Below is a little video we made

At the end of the season we drove the Van down to Umbria in Central Italy to experience a Headwater holiday for ourselves. We set off a little early to by us sometime so that we could stop off en-route at Pisa and Florence, this did mean Steph had to sleep in the van for a night but on the cycle route we were treated to first class hotels and cuisine which made up for it. We saw some lovely scenery, ate lovely food, met lovely people, typical experience in Italy I feel

We made a little video about that trip too - (coming soon)
