goofing off in the traingoofing off in the traingoofing off in the train

me and alex were being dorks having a camera shoot... and this was one of the good pics
geez.... the past two days have been shitty as all hell. Yesterday started at 4:45am when Alex and I embarked for the train station to leave Girona and head out of the French Rivieria. Apparently the 6am train we heard about did not exist. It was a sign for the day to come that we would spend half our day waiting in train stations. By 11am we had only made it to the french border but were on our way. We got screwed out of money and time as the day went on, but sure enough by 8pm we made it to Antibes, our final destination.... or so we thought. We were supposed to meet up with these people who have a house in the Cap d'Antibes, a ridiculously glamourous part of town home to walled in mansions only blocks away from one of the nicest beaches in the Cote d'Azur (litteraly blue coast), but I didn't have a chance to write down the phone number so it was a frantic time trying to get ahold of my friend Nadia who had their number back home (shes coming to europe this weekend to meet up with me). Finally I do to

one of the bajillion pictures i took of the coast as we rode around
find out that for whatever fucking reason the folks are not coming in town until she is (they thought i was coming in with her) and her flight is moved back to friday night/saturday. fuck fuck fuck. So now we have to buy another ticket and get back on the lame ass trains to Nice where we can find a hostel or hotel or whatever has vacancies at 9pm at night. Thank god for this great restuarant with 14.5 euro menus that rocked my world.... stuffed us with starters, entrees, side dishes, dessert, wine, and "digestifs" (liqour in tiny little glasses that can be anything from brandy to what im pretty sure was tequilla).... hmmmm so good.

So back to the hostel where me and alex shared a ridiculously small bed--maybe 2.5 ft across--and set our alarm for 4:45 yet again because Alex's flight home was this morning........................... well after some taxi drama at 5am we get to the airport to discover alex doesn't have a ticket for the 7:25 to Frankfurt. Fuck. Turns out it was tomorrow. Fuck Shit Fuck. Its true what they say, "It always gets darkest just before it gets pitch black." Back to the hostel we go to get a few more hours to sleep until they kick us out around 11. its 2:40 pm and all we've managed to do is go find another hotel (next to the airport instead of the train station thank god) shower (man we smelled) and take another small nap. But now, its raining, which sucks. At least a silver lining has emerged and that is another day with Alex before he ships himself home and I don't see him until late October.

Alright, I'm off to find food. Hopefully, this will be the only incredibly negative entry I have to write, and once alex leaves I'll start some real adventures besides horrible train/plane experiences. PEace and love to everyone!!!! I'll be writing postcards once my boy leaves and I'm lonely with no where to go until the whole mansion thing works out (at least another day)
