Nice is nice~

Nice is so nice... we say that every time we come here! We stayed the first 2 nights in Villefranche sur Mer at our favorite hotel, Le Versailles. The rooms are nothing special but the views from our balcony, ahhhhh, there are no better on the Cote d'Azur. The first night we tried to find the Indian place in Nice Port for dinner but it has left so we opted for Moroccan again (no such thing as too much couscous) and had an after dinner stroll around the port looking at the HUGE boats. But I guess they were not quite big enough to get into Monaco port.

Wednesday morning we drove directly to Biot to shop. We watched the glass blowers work their magic and purchased a few souvenirs. Then on to Eze for lunch... we explored this tiny town perched high above the coast after a delicious lunch with a tour bus full of Germans, can you say LOTS of wine? We were so glad they had a driver!! In the evening we ate at our hotel and drove over to Monaco in a light drizzle to see the rich people. They were there - in their fancy cars and clothes!! We ended up in the American Bar in the Hotel de Paris with a view of the casino entrance, drinking wine and capuccinos - we didn't even mind the rain. As Tracy says " we had a rich moment"!

Thursday we packed up and moved to the hotel near the Nice Airport because our flights leave at 6am on Friday. During the day we explored Nice and Tracy bought MORE jewelry! I wonder if airport security will let her through... I hope not, then she can stay for another week!!

Nice Update
I just logged on hoping you had updated the blog with pictures. Excellent job. I love that picture of you at Le Versailles with the glass of wine. What a great photographer you have? It sounds like you are having a great time at Pams....and you thought you got to relax! Sounds like a bunch of partiers to me. Clean laundry. I think you are one up on me.... I'm severally jet lagged - my sleep schedule is really off. It was Tracy's b'day today. I met her and some of her friends for brunch and then we hung out at the beach today. It's home and it's beautiful. I'll keep up with you this week. Have a great travel day tomorrow - be safe. T
