So we have had a few change of plans based on trains and hostels and we decided to hit a few places we had never heard of! It wasn't until we got of the train in Avignon that I realized that we were in Provence. So cool! Of course it was raining though because we had left beautiful and sunny Paris. Some major issues trying to get to Avignon though. We didn't realize we had to reserve our seats on the train so we had to get of our train and go reserve seats for the next one. Finally do that and get on the train and in our seats when we realize that our ticket actually says a carriage number on it (in French of course!). So we climb off and find the right carriage and the right seats and we are on our way so this unknown place that we randomly booked. Once we got there we were supposed to take a bus to our guesthouse and it was all easy-peasy. So did not work that way for us. We got off in this abandoned, deserted area of town when we realized we had gone too far. Tried walking back but of course we couldn't remember the exact route of the bus so we were randomly walking around when we saw these two women. We accosted them and tried to ask for directions in our rudimentary french when one said that she spoke English. I could have cried. Appparently we were so far off from where we wanted to be. The french woman kept shaking her head at us and saying 'Non, non, non'. We were not even close. So we are booting it back to the bus when the last one of the day zooms past. Wicked. Then nice French lady tells us to stay put and she goes and gets her car (and before you worry mom and grandma- she was all old and nice- we totally could have taken her). She takes us to the right area, about a ten minute drive from where we were and walks us to our guesthouse. Nice french man greets us there and was all worried about the three Canadian girls who were 3 hours late! Such an amazing place though. Totally worth the hassle and scares. We treated ourselves to a glass of wine and some real food. Anyhoo, that is the goings on from over here. Off to Florence tomorrow on a 9 hour train ride. No pictures yet because its a total hassle but hopefully at some point I can get some up. Love you all bunches and hope your having fun with whatever you are doing
