I just wanted to show you a few photos that we took more than a fortnight ago - before we had a week in England, before our last visitors came, because we had such fun.

Tarascon is about half an hour from us, in the Pyrennees proper, and for 4 days in early May, they had their annual show. Think Harrogate Show, but with the animals held in the Valley Gardens, and winning troupes of sheep being paraded down Cambridge Street to the centre of the precinct, with bands playing and people sitting round outside the food tents eating hearty dishes of local lamb, croustade and wine

At least we think that's what the pompoms on their backs mean

With very splendid bell. Lots of cattle, horses and goats wear these, and the bells cost round about 100 Euros each
