Oh my!Oh my!Oh my!

Diana eyes the presents under the tree.
We woke to find that Pere Noel had indeed visited the children here in Normandy. Besides gifts under the tree, he also left stockings by the fireplace. You can see that Diana was quite excited coming down the stairs!

The boys were very surprised to see that they had each received a Playstation Portable. Will was almost hyperventilating! The PSPs will be handy to entertain the kids on the remaining driving trips we have (2 hrs + to Mont Ste Michel tomorrow). Diana was very thankful for all she received and has worked hard to learn some French. They also were surprised to learn that we were spending our last day in France at Disneyland Paris….they had Disney dollars in their stockings!

We had a clear sky and sun mid-day so it was the perfect opportunity for some family photos around the cottage. After a leisurely morning we headed to the coast to Deauville for a Christmas lunch. We found a small restaurant down by the harbor, see photo, and the younger kids were thrilled to have “kiddy crepes” with hamburgers and fries! Deauville has a huge boardwalk along the beach and after lunch there were many French families

taking an afternoon stroll together…so we joined them! Deauville was adorable and by far the most chic place we have been so far. We didn’t stop to buy that scarf at Hermes. :Next, we drove the coast road and stopped in Honfleur again to stroll and have a “chocolat chaud” before we headed home. We found a great Salon de The in the church square, we had a huge room to ourselves with comfortable chairs and board games to play while we relaxed. The holiday lights came on in the town as we finished and we headed back to the cottage for our evening fire!

Diana’s Diary: I had fun today. This is the best Christmas ever. I love speaking some of the words in French. Going to France is the best. My favorite thing so far was running in the bunkers.

Will’s Field Report: This was the best Christmas EVER!! Me, Mike and Steve got a PSP and a few games we can play against each other. And I had a really, really, good lunch, it was the best hamburger meat I ever had. I am looking forward to going to French Disneyworld.
