Hey everybody. We are now in the cheepest hotel in the small city of Narbone close to the Spanish boarder. Figured we would save a little money to spend south of the boarder and decided we could by five bottles of wine for the amount we are saving. Lush. Our last few days have been spent through in and around the Dordonge valley. Touring a few chateaux, Josephine Baker owned one, walking through a number of small cliffside villeges, our buns and backs are burning, and drinkng in the life of this beautiful place. Tried to see some of the grottos of the area for the cave paintings and such but most of the attractions have all closed for the season. Bit of shame but we did have the feeling that all of the villeges, towns and castles were ours alone to see as we pleased at our ownpace. The only downside we ever read about this place was the horrible triffic and crowds so we kind of feel we have been blessed. The temp was always cool in the morning, but always warmed in the afternoon so that we could take off our jackets while on the wander. We spent more time (Tara) on the intraweb and have now booked ourselves into spots untill the tenth of feb, all in Spain, and that is where we are headed for tommorow. Today was spent driving from Baynac to Narbone with some side adventures to the fortress of Carcassonne(massivly impressive) and a great drive through the gorge d'oriel (all tight road of switch backs ,chicanes ,and blind hairpins through the valley floor of near cliffsidded gorge) Breath taking in everyway and again did not come across another car. Tara was able to buy lots of FOIS GRAS which should tickle her fancy for years to come as it will last till2013. The trip has been really great so far and we are just about to get to the part we have been looking most foward to, Spain! Time for bed 😉
P.S. Had McDonalds tonight, same great taste, same horrible gut raunch afterwards.
Au revoir France , Hola Espagne!
