Surrounding walls
I was invited to tag along with a French student named Matthieu and his girlfriend, along with Sean and Daniel from SDSU on an overnight trip to Montpellier. He had a small car and all five of us crammed in with all the SDSU kids in the little backseat. We drove past French countryside including Nimes and Arles. We stopped in a little town called Aigues Mortes. This town was a medevil town completely surrounded by castle walls covered with archery slits. We spent an hour and a half wandering the city streets. Next, we drove to a beach-side city, called Le Grau Du Roi. It was sunny and warm as we walked around. After about another hour or so we headed for Montpellier in the car. Montpellier was a really nice city. We checked into our hotel but we joined Matthieu and his girlfriend (along with her mom and sisters) to look at an aquarium. The aquarium was great and it had a huge fish/shark tank. We spent about two hours there. After that the three San Diego students, including me, took the trolley downtown. We wandered the streets and were able to get a good view of the entire

city. There were very old buildings and religious statues. The next day we went back into town and walked some more. We went to an amazing art museum with tons of religious paintings. Some of them took up entire walls. I really wish I could have gotten one for my house in the future. The majority of paintings were from Souther French and Italian painters. We then had to meet up with Matthieu because he was in a different city. We took the train a little bit early to a nearby city named Lunel. As we were walking around, it started rainng really hard. We took cover under an awning and watch the rain for awile. We went back to the train station were Matthieu picked us up and drove us all back to Marseille. Here are the pictures.
