The Sacre Coeur
The Sacre Coeur We're making the most of me (Lara) being in Paris for work on a Friday to spend a weekend here. Having escaped a long day in a subterranean conference centre, I escaped into the heat of the late afternoon sun to go underground again and catch the metro to meet Mark at our hotel!We headed out to Montmartre, a short walk away. Hungry after the rather dodgy lunchtime offering at the conference centre (soggy fried cheese anyone?) we had a lovely dinner including ice cream. Very nice chocolate, coffee and coconut (and the salted caramel Mark had was nice too!).Refreshed and ready to go, we walked past the Moulin Rouge and climbed up to the Sacre Coeur for a great view over the city, just as the sun was going down. Moulin Rouge few selfie sticks to see it through! The angle doesn't quite let you see the Eiffel Tower, but we glimpsed it late on our walk! We found two more windmills on our way back before heading to the metro, past lots and lots of cafes. A very pleasant end to the day.
