We awoke at 7:20am to pack our suitcases, have breakfast and place our suitcases on the coach. As part of our trip there is an optional day trip to Versailles, Montmarte and the Moulin Rouge. We chose not to go with this option due to the fact it cost extra and we wanted to continue to explore Paris.
Breakfast in the hotel was an amazing buffet and traditional French breakfast, I was most certainly encourage anybody who is visiting France to try this. After stuffing our faces with food we returned our room key and made our way to the train station.
Even jumping on the train was a new and incredible experience for us as the train was double decker and a French street band performed on the train for around 3 stops. If only we had such beautiful musical entertainment on London trains! Having arrived back in Paris we headed straight on our mission to find the Notre Dame.
On our way to the Notre Dame we came across the Colour Run Paris. It was an amazing experience to see the start of this and spent some time dancing to the
loud music and waving and shouting with the runners.
After plenty of wrong turns, an orangina stop and a lot of map turning we finally arrived at the Notre Dame. The building is exquisitely beautiful and holds so much history. We were lucky enough to hear the bells ring as we arrived. Unfortunately, the queue was far too long to go inside but to see such a building, not over a computer screen, made the trip just as worthwhile.
On our way back to the Eiffel Tower we again came across some more Colour Run stops and took great pleasure in watching the runners get covered in yellow and green powder at the stops! 😊 Due to the colour run we had to make a slight detour and ended up walking down the Tuileries Gardens, arriving at the Place de la Concorde.
We took a final walk down the River Seine, and Champs Elysees before eating in a beautiful cafe in the backstreets. We also came across an instagram mirror placed on the wall opposite the cafe, so we took a pic uploaded to instagram and soon heard from the guy who had placed the mirror here.

At Trocadero we jumped on a train to Montmartre and after grabbing some food, lazily, took the cable car to the top of Montmartre. From here you can see all of Paris and the Basilica of Sacre Coer is just amazing. In the spirit of being travellers we decided to ditch the cable car and walk back down the many steps and steep hill.
Unfortuantly this is where our trip came to an end as we travelled back to Calais, took the Eurotunnel and arrived back at London Victoria for 11:00pm.
This was a fantastic trip and I would highly recommend it to any travellers as Paris is rich is culture and history. Do not come, however, expecting a warm welcome with holiday atmosphere as the Parisians choose to ignore tourists mostly and do not beg for your attendance to their restaurant or on their trip etc as they do in places such as Turkey.
The exchange rate for pound to euro is currently at 1.2192.
If anyone has any questions or wants some advice about travelling to Paris just
leave a comment and I am happy to help!
