Well today we have decided to never coming home sorry Kids, family and friends. We have officially fallen in love with Paris. Well, we may come home for winter as we hear it’s bitterly cold here.

We set off very early this morning for Versailles with a tour group (the only way to not spend the day in the court yard for tickets and waiting to get in). I won’t say much more and let the pictures do the talking….. Tres Magnifique…….

When we returned at lunch time we set off for to use our Museum passes. First we went to Meusée d’Orsay which was a wonderful old railway station that has been turned into a museum of 19th & 20th century art, displaying paintings Degas, Renoir, Van Gough, Monet, Matisse, Cezanne, Whistler, Toulouse-Lautrec and many, many more. We had lunch up in the clock tower looking over the Seine and looking through the clock face in the distance was Sacre Coure.

Then we were off to the Meusée Rodin housed in a beautiful Chateau near the Eiffel Tower. This is the collection of sculptures including the Thinker, the Kiss and the Gates of Hell. Just as impressive

The original hunting lodge and Chapel
were the grounds and the beautiful grass that we could lie down on.

We’ve also ticked another big tourist attraction visiting Hotel des Invalides, which houses the tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte and other significant military leaders. Hotel des Invalides was originally built by Louis XIV in 1671 to house all the incapacitated and destitute soldiers. It is now a military museum but still accommodates French serviceman.

The walking wasn’t over yet, we set out for Boulevard Saint-Germain, one of the main shopping strips with all the labels and designers. The best find was Café de Flore for omelets for dinner. Then off to our now favorite gelato shop for some pistachio and chocolate noir gelato and walked back home along the Seine.

Another big day, we’ve been on our feet walking constantly from 8 in the morning until 9 in the evening and it still isn’t dark. The weather is still holding with warm beautifully sunny days.

Thank you all so much, we are loving all your replies to the Blog and we both apologies for not replying to any of your comments but it is really great to think so many of you are reading the Blog and yes the ping pong competition is fierce and fast, we are on target for a win at Christmas John & Gordi. I will let you know now that the Blog may slow down when we start the tour next week depending on time available and If we can get any internet access. Sorry!

Au revoir

Al and Tess
