On the wayOn the wayOn the way

Viking and Pri on the train to Stockholm.
I'm back in Paris this year too, but now I've got the company of my amigo Viking and his gf Priscila visiting from Brazil.

We've been talking about railing through europe for many years now but there's always been something coming in the way to stop us. This year - before getting too old to get the interrail youth-pass we figured was the time!

After some last-minute late night packing we began our journey by going to Stockholm monday morning to buy Interrail cards and possibly a Eurail pass for Pri (since she's not from Europe). After some convincing and thanks to a nice guy at Stockholm central it was decided we could all three get interrail cards since Pri had visited here this winter and has applied for a swedish visa. Feels like it's gonna be easier to have the same pass for all three of us.

Due to re-construction and work on the rail-lines in Copenhagen, it was suggested us that we shouldn't take the quick train with few changes we had considered, but would be better off going over Koeln and wait there two hours. We took the advice and were glad we did when

Waiting for next train in Koeln.
we arrived about an hour late in Copenhagen. It was total chaos at the station there, the departure screens were full of trains that should have already left but were delayed so we had to walk back and forth and look on the individual screens for each track to figure out which ours would be going from.

We made the night-train to Koeln ok, changed in Brussel and arrived in Paris around 14:00.

Had a cheap hotel booked in advance in the outskirts of Paris, was quite ok though for €13 per person... "The Balladins" in Rosny sous bois.

Pri and Viking of course had to go up the Eiffel-tour, since I had already seen it I opted to stay on the ground and eat ice-cream and look at tourists 😊

Next day (wednesday) we saw the Mona Lisa, walked by the Opera, had dinner and took it pretty easy. Watched the France vs Portugal game in a pub near the train-station were our train would leave from that night. Pri, being Brazilian and having portuguese ancestry, cheered quietely for Portugal but didn't stand a chance making her voice heard as France won and went on

While Viking and Pri is up the big tower... I find some americanos to chat with.
to play in the final.

Left France on the 23.53 night-train bound for San Sebastian, still without having been able to find a single hostel with beds free on the net... Seems to be lots (even more the usual during the summer) tourists in europe now.
