This morning we headed straight out to Luton to catch the plane out to Paris. We said a grateful good bye to Dana and the very warm weather in the Uk and took the train out. We had some time to kill before the plane, so we decided to get rid of the rest of our pounds and had lunch. We still had just over a pound left after that so I went in search of nibbles. I found I was one pence short of what we wanted, so in true tight-arse style, I scoured the floors to find my extra 1p and I found 5! Ti-tow!! heh heh heh....

Anyway, we had to change hostels as the one we originally booked had some last minute problems so they moved us to a 2 star hotel. It was a bit further out of the main city, but wasnt bad really - we had our own bathroom and balcony and had a view of the Sacre Cour. It was fairly late by the time we had dinner, (quick trip to the Monoprix) so we tried to turn in for an early night. Unfortunately the guys across the way decided to have

a party on their balcony and one of them thought himself to be an up and coming Pavarotti, so we were treated to some songs till about 2-3am in the morning. At that stage i had enough of trying to say 'sei vu plais' (my limited French) and was scouring the phrasebook for 'ques qu sais.. SHUT THE F$CK UP!' which alas I could not find.

After a restless night and the weather still staying in the 20s overnight, we were up early and on a mission. We climbed the Arc De Triumphe in record time and boy was it hot. No car accidents to report while we were up top so that wasn't much fun, so we walked over to the Eiffel Tower. The line was shorter for the queue to climb up, (and cheaper) so we again trekked to the top. The view was absolutely beautiful!

From their we took a wrong turn to try and find Notre Dame, but fortunately found another Monoprix and had a very nice lunch. We then braved the crowds at Notre Dame - surprisingly not as busy as I thought it would be. Later that evening we trekked up to

Sacre Cour and took in more beautiful views and tried to stave off annoying people who try to sell you crap and paint your picture at the same time.

Thankfully Pavarotti did not return for an encore, so it was a quiet night in!
