Woke around 4.00am, very tired but far too excited to sleep. Caught the 6.30am flight from Aberdeen to Paris, arrived around 9.30am, how good is that you get on a flight & within 2 hours you are in a totally different country....liking this very much. Got to bag collection & you know what my suitcase got lost.....what is with that........thought this cannot be happening to me.Went to information & gave them all my details, all I had to do was wait for it to arrive at our hotel. I was told that I could buy essentials with a 100 Euro allowance for the inconvenience that the airline put me through, so this was good. Shopping in Paris on the airlines money, nice work. Caught a taxi to our hotel "Pavillon De Paris", very quaint & room was amazing. Dropped our bags & headed out to catch the Les Cars Rouges Double Decker Bus, to see all the sites of Paris. Spent 2 hours seeing everything, was so magnificent just could not get my head around being here. After the exhausting bus trip, went shoppong with my 100 Euro, purchased a really nice couple of things to wear out while I am
here in Paris. Arrived back to our hotel to find afternoon tea & free champagne was being served, well Becc & I sat & had champagne & pastries, delicious. Got ready & booked a taxi to St Michel, where all the night life & restaurants are, its called Huchette R Dla, great atmosphere, all sorts of things to watch & do. We choose a little Greek restaurant called "Mythos". Ordered "Escargot", snails in a garlice butter sauce......chewy but nice, similar to calamari, followed by Moussaka, now this was very tasty. Becc & I got dragged up on the dance floor by the owners, very funny & entertaining, we had a great time, dancing with the locals. Then off to an irish pub around the corner, really tiny only a handful of customers in this pub, the locals were singing along to a karoke machine in French, so funny to listen to. We then walked down to a Jazz Club, this was a little place where we had to go downstairs to listen to the jazz band. There were three talented musicans playing, Becc & I were in heaven, stood up & just took in the music & the dancers. I
grabbed Becc's hand & took her to the dance floor & we were so out of our league here but no one knew us so we just danced as well as we could & no one judged us for it. The dancers around us were extremely talented & awesome to watch. Then headed off to a night club called Ze Bar, great, this was where we stayed until it closed. Got to meet a few local frenchmen and one of them was able to dance just like Michael Jackson, this was something to watch. We danced & danced at this club, had the best time.....Becc & I were grooving all night long. we had been up all day & night but it seemed as though it didnt matter as we were in Paris, a city that does not sleep. End of Day one........what will Day Two bring!!!!!

Paris - sounds like you have "done that twon" well. If nothing else you will have seen the best of everything when you are done, danced your ass off , and tasted all sorts of new foods / wines / beers. What more ???? Keep up the good work. It is good reading.
