our morning exercise - Sacre Couer
the most calories we've burned so far were on these steps We actually woke up on time this morning to get our complimentary breakfast of bread and coffee. This could be that we were both up at 3AM wide awake. After packing up our backpacks and storing them at the hostel, we headed up to the Sacre Couer, which is a beautiful and enormous church on top of the hill in Montmartre. It was quite a site and a great view. We lounged around inside the church for quite awhile, trying to find the energy to start the day and devise a plan to bypass the many men harrassing people on your aproach to the top of the hill. After finding an alternate route down the hill, we then headed to the Musee d'Orsay to check out some more art in an old train station and really to waste time and get out of the cold. It has been our coldest day so far and we have probably been outside for most of it. After some more bread and a little cheese at the museum cafe, we came back to Montmartre, actually Pigalle, a real known sex district featuring the Moulin Rouge, for some more grub. We got our one picture of
musee d'orsay
jenn as still as a statue the MR and then retreated to a less shady area. Our meals today have really consisted of bread and cheese, and we have voted the Indian meal the best so far. We are looking forward to some good italian food and wine. Next stop Florence off the night train.
Check out our previous blog for we added a few pics for your viewing pleasure. Here are a few more from today.
Au revoir france, bonjourno (sp?) Italy.
