I had wanted to go to Versailles when I was here in 2004, but never made it. A group of five went today: me, Erin, Gayle, David, and our latest refugee, Chris from England.

Versailles wasn't much fun, because it was way too crowded. We paid for a guided tour, but we couldn't actually hear most of what was said. The Hall of Mirrors wasn't as stunning as I expected, but it was apparently a big deal at the time, as it was the first time that most of the people had seen their full-body reflection.

We went to the Eiffel Tower, and the lines were short to get in, but then the line was very long to get to the top storey. I prefer the second level to the third, as the second is open-air.

We wanted to visit the Pont des Arts to watch the sunset, but we were late getting there. We sat on the steps at the Pont Alexandre III and drank wine (I had Coke). When we were getting up to leave, Erin accidentally knocked a bottle of wine down the stairs. It bounced a few times, and finally shattered.

We visited Sacre Coeur again, this time to see it in the dark. I wanted to walk through Montmartre to the Moulin Rouge, but nobody else wanted to.

David finally got his rugby ticket for tomorrow night. Scotland is playing France, and it looks like half of Scotland has traveled for the game. David has made of point of speaking to every one of them.

Can you tell that I love Paris? I want to take pictures of everything.
