As we will be in London next weekend, we decide that we should go to Versailles today.
Unfortunately it’s the coldest day yet and even raining a little. We join a guided tour with a group of American Business students (spotty, airheads) but the guide is good and gives us some interesting insights into the lives of the Louis’. The grandeur is indescribable and makes us understand the grudge that the common people had against Marie Antoinette and her ilk. Unfortunately the weather prevents us from enjoying the gardens. Its bitterly cold and windy, so we make do with the view from the palace and a book with lots of pictures.
