Under cloudy skies and intermittent rainfall, today we enjoyed a full-day, semi-guided tour of three famous châteaux in the Loire Valley. We met our driver/guide, a very pleasant and knowledgeable young French lady, and a retired couple from, Vancouver Canada, in front of the tourism office at 9:00AM. Ceiling detail

Oriental drawing room at the Château Villandry. It came from a 15th-century ducal palace in Toledo, Spain. It contains elements from both Christian and Moorish art. When delivered to Villandry in 1905, it required over a year to install the 3,600 pieces of this ceiling.

Castles, moats, and draw bridges, my kind of places! The gardens are so elaborate and look like fun mazes! I can’t believe how much you squeezed into one day, you are troopers! ?

Holy Castles!!!! My goodness the travels alone in just today!!! Glad all was a successful journey and safe fun.. Loved all the sites am sure even prettier than in pictures.
