Kerambris

We arrived in Nantes on Bastille Day (July 14th). We picked
up our hire car, a dark brown 2 door Lexia which we called
Chocolat! I was the driver and Sal the navigator because it
is very expensive for drivers under 25 to hire cars. Driving
on the right side was a challenge but with Sal's excellent
navigation skills we were soon on the expressway to
Brittany. We were greeted at Kerambris, just outside of port
Manech, by Yveline, a soft spoken and gentle french women
who is all kindness! Our home for a week was a beautiful
farmhouse which has been in Yveline's family for 300 years.
Yveline was very helpful in telling us (in french 😊)about
the best places to eat and some great walks.

THe food in Brittany is great - lots of sea food of course,
and crepes galore! they are known for their crepes of 'ble
noir' (lit. dark wheat), which we happily partook of
regularly from the many creperies in the area! Best
combination was filled with pistachios and chocolate! For
savoury sal tended to stick to the more traditional options
(egg, cheese, ham etc) whereas robyn branched out a bit with
scallops and other seafoods!

We were only a 10 min walk from the beach and went for some
lovely long walks along the cliff tops. We visited Pont Aven
which is the town where Gaugain founded his art school in
about 1888. A small circus came to town in Port Manech for 2
nights so we wandered down and were entertained by some
great acrobats - in the world's smallest "BIG top"!!😊 the
best part was watching the looks of delight on all the kid's
faces - kids are the same the world over, just gotta make
them laugh!

Sounds fantastic
French trip sounds fantastic. A good combo of fitness, food and exploring. Hope USA and Canada are just as good. However, you may miss the french culture and accents. Continue to enjoy. Luv B and R
