Helsinki
One of the highest buildings in Helsinki In Helsinki we booked a room in hostel Erottajanpuisto in the Uudemaankatu/Nylandsgatan street. This was town centre and very confortable location for us, we could to get anywhere quite fast and capable. This hostel is so good idea to book any room there - it was expensive (we paid 84 euros) for night but the condition wasn't good.
Helsinki has its own architecture style, I can't define to which the most famous ones it refers but definitely this town has a specific atmosphere. I think Helsinki is quite similar to my hometown Szczecin in north west part of Poland. We had a look for town centre: Eteläesplanadi/Södra Esplanaden - this a representative street in Helsinki with the government buildings located there and finally we walked around Kauppatori - the main market beside the sea.
Everywhere in Finland as we noticed is clean and most of local people speak in English. They know Swedish as well. During our visit in Helsinki we had some tasty meals in restaurants.
We visited in Suomenlinna/Sveaborg fortress. To get there you must go to Kauppatori and pay for return ticket 6 euro. We bought the ferry tickets to Tallinn as well. Very easy
