Helsinki, Finland
Lovely day, sun hiding behind clouds, 18ºC
Across the Finland Straights from Tallinn Estonia
Day started at 8:30
Shuttle to Esplanade, walked to and around the harbour market, up to the ornate Orthodox church (1% population), then up some more stairs to the Lutheran church- non ornate
I still have a cold, terry is on day 2 of his
We decided to split in smaller groups, Ross went home, cab and bus, Vicky and Bruce took the 29€ city tour bus,
5 of us walked to the Lutheran chuch in the rocks, then Leon, Ella and Patti walked to Sebellukensen puisto and Terry and I feeling less energetic than them walked to the flea market and home by 2.
T & I rested all afternoon and are going back out on deck for sail away at 7, before 8:15 dinner; sail away is beautiful as we are slowly meandering through the Finnish archipelago
Tomorrow, Russia: first called St-Petersburg, then Petrograd, then Leningrad, then back to St-P, a 12 hour touring trip on Sunday and another 10 hours on Monday.
I will send pictures of sailaway next
Send me news please
Praying for you again in Orthodox chuches, best wishes Vicki
