Piglets or huskies?Piglets or huskies?Piglets or huskies?

We know! We know! We look like little piglets all snuggled up in a sty. Watch this space as we grow into puppies and learn to become fully fledged sled dogs. One day, we'll be racing across the snowy white wilderness of Finnish Lapland. Image © Antti Pietikäinen and www.activitiesabroad.com
Hi

We’re four Alaskan huskies, two brothers and two sisters born here in Finnish Lapland on 13 July 2011.

At the moment, our home is a cosy kennel with straw on the floor. Our mum keeps us warm, snug and well fed.

We don’t really do much at present, sleep and eat, sleep and eat which makes it pretty easy for mum. That’s probably just as well because she needs lots of rest after giving birth to the four of us.

At present, we don’t even have names. Our carer is called Catrin and she will decide what to call us once our eyes open and we begin moving about because she likes to know a little bit about our character before naming us. Poor mum is dreading the time when we start moving about and then running off and exploring!

Anyway, that’s all from us for now, it’s not easy writing a blog when you’re a 7-day old husky (even when there are four of us!) and we need a bit more sleep.

We’ll write more very soon.

Best regards and lots of love

Our eyes won;t open until we're about two weeks old. Until then we just sleep and eat, sleep and eat. It's easy! Image © Antti Pietikäinen and www.activitiesabroad.com

We don't even have names yet. The person who cares for us Catrin will wait until we open our eyes and start moving a little bit. She likes to know a bit about our character before we are given names. Image © Antti Pietikäinen and www.activitiesabroad.com

Our white colour was a big, big surprise. Mum is black, dad is brown and their is no history of white in our lineage so to have three white puppies is very, very unusual indeed. Image © Antti Pietikäinen and www.activitiesabroad.com
