We arrived in Tallinn at 5.40am morning of the 25th after a nightmarish overnight bus journey from St. Petersburg. It wouldn't have been so bad except for the border crossing, one for exiting Russia and one for entering Estonia. You think leaving a country would be easy crossing the border out of Russia was quite a big ordeal. 2am in the morning we all have to get off the bus, take our rucksacks,bags etc and got through immigration which took ages and then through customs which took another hour or so. After boarding the bus again finally we travelled through no mans land for about 20mins and then hit the Estonia border and had to repeat the process again. After a local bus ride which we thought would take us into the old town but took us to the suberbs we caught a cab to the hostel but as it was 6am we couldn't check into the hostel till 2pm. We took a stroll through the old town and was probably the best time to see it as there was nobody about, it was fab. Small cobbled streets,old building, lots of cafes, bars. its just gorgeous. And nice after coming from 2 big cities like Moscow and St. Petersburg to be somewhere like this. We bumped into a guy we had met in the hostel in St.Petersburg and went with him to the city hostel to scam a free breakfast..and we did,happy days.
Finally got into our hostel and slept for most of the day.

I wrote this the first day we arrived and havent had the chance to update since. We have been here a week now, our first few days we went out to one of the islands for 2 nights and then came back to meet up with mam, dad and dave in Tallinn. We have had a absolute ball with them and they looked after us very well .... exceptionally well in fact. Dad took us sightseeing most days, mam took me shopping .. and everynight we went out for dinner and drinks. They rented a class apartment right in town hall square and we all stayed there., we miss it already. And them, it was great to see them. And thanks again mam and dad.

Oh yeah, we finally got our credit card sorted and its arrived only today, if anyone every goes to New Zealand dont join KiwiBank.

Tomorrow we head on the 7am bus to Riga and from there well, we'll see.

hey guys, ********************** HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR a,b,c,DEE, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU ********************** Dee, we hope you had a fabulous birthday and we will celebrate with you when we meet up in ireland... well it sounds and looks like your having the time of your lives. so sorry i havent been in touch for a while but get little chances to email anyone. anyway we are at bangkok ariport awaiting our early flight to Phuket, yippee. just departed our overnigyht train from chaing mai, north thailand, which was great, no wonder you loved yours too.we had a ball. chaing mai was fantastic, way nicer than bangkok. did tons of stuff.. 3day/2night elephant trekking, bamboo water rafting, visited the tribal long neck people(out of this world, will email you photos soon) and tons of other stuff. cant even remember what we did a week ago in bangkok,its way too early for that.. well dee you will never believe, i applied for a realtiy tv job as an assistant buyer and i got choosen for the interview, the only problem is that its this sat in dublin and i cant make it. i was going to fly home early but i wouldnt have had time to make my mood baords for it and do tons of research, what a pity... would have been on tv every week,cameras followoing me around whilst i was being trained into asst fashion buyer in Arnotts... sh*t gotta run kens boarding without me, take care, miss you and see you soon, love lynnoxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxx
