We sadly left Norway this morning after 18 days in this stunning country and the high speed catamaran took us to Hirtshals on the north of the Jutland area of Denmark. Jutland is a complete contrast to the mountainous area we have been travelling through because it is almost completely flat. Or at least the bit of it we saw today was!

From Hirtshals we drove 50k northwest to Grenen and after a mile long walk through the sandunes and along the beach we reached the most northerly point in Denmark. Grenen is interesting because it is the boundary between the North and Baltic seas. The currents run in opposite directions and you can see the waves breaking against each other.

Then it was 200k south along the Danish motorways to Arhus, Denmark’s second city, where we are staying on a pleasant beach side campsite.
