Amsterdam
Not big enough for her clogs As we drive through the Belguim countryside we see different agriculture Barley, fields of Sunflowers and Corn. Villages much the same as Germany gothic style facades with tall chimneys. Large farm houses with grand barns which follow into the Netherlands as we finally reach Amsterdam.
A cultural mixture of all ethnic groups and sex drug and rock n roll, and now a days expensive shops of designer brands. Canals, bicycles, sex workers and erotica it's all here. Hustle and bustle of the canal streets of people busking, cycling and enjoying what Amsterdam has to offer. It's quite strange that within 1 hour of being in a place a tourist stops us and asks for directions strange, And then too young lads from Sydney on a three month Europe trip straight off the plane and they ask us for directions we all laugh, whats the chances. After some parental guidance hehe but what the hell go for it boys. We usually have a city map on our iphone and Glen who's usually scouted out the map and city before we arrive is on hand letting the tourist know which directions they should take. He's amazing........ So much to see that we walk
Amsterdam
I couldn't give him away for Kilometres, the things you see and can see in Amsterdam is unbelievable. Working girls scantly clad give you the come on with a wink or a come on look. I'm sure theres a price for whatever goes, no matter what sex you are. And erotic sex shows I swear the same fellow on every poster of different establishments scattered around he must have a hidden talent..... Or something?
We had some fun, people watching mostly and enjoyed sitting drinking and watching lonely men pick up enough courage. Glen was on top form as you will see in one of the photos much to the delight of some American girls we were chatting too in The Old Sailor Inn they snapped alway. we had them laughing they were from Las Vegas but just hadn't met two old crazy Australians before. I think they are heading to Australia for their next vacation. Any way enough said. It's hard to believe just how many people ride bicycles and bicycles rules the right of way they own the road.
Pedestrians beware you have to give way to the bicycle unless the lights tell you other wise. Everyone's so fit and takeaways
outlets are very expensive and so they should be too, the children are less obese and are a lot fitter compared to home. However some locals would disagree and say they are doing less exercise. Amsterdam does very well by the tourist, expensive hotels and lots of cafes and restaurants. But the scenery just doesn't disappoint five storey homes painted in bold and pastel colours, tree lined canal streets and the appropriate bicycle chained to a canal bridge, makes it a photographer paradise for colours. Doors, boats, barges and flower boxes all ablaze with colours all quite delightful to the eye.
As we travelled out of Amsterdam and headed to a place called Meerland on the western border, our trip to Meerland had us traveling through some lovely countryside with just beautiful farms houses again and small towns all very tidy and looked after. Again fields of different kinds of agriculture as well as horses just beautiful beasts. Lots of them too. Windmills also and Dykes it's amazing how the Dutch people have such great agriculture. The land was once submerged and is now fertile lands. Arriving at a small farm stay we quickly settled in a small building
surrounded with a cottage garden and a old barn with a loft and kittens to my delight, mother cats settled down with us quite nicely and made them selfs at home very relaxing to be their. Hot summer days and lazying sitting around days. Then on and and back into Germany for a couple of days to Hanover, historic areas of the city but also quite modern. Hair cut time and to stock up on depleted products, window shopping which also a requirement for me makes me miss the girls and shopping with them. Boy have I missed taking my credit card shopping. Saturday we found a extraordinary place it was Hanover Markethall such an amazing place early in the morning the shop keepers start cooking different kinds of dishes Schnitzel, sausages, pastas, curries, hamburgers, sauerkurte, etc, all types of German delicates and beer, wine. They start early in the day drinking and eating chatting and socialising meet friends and just relaxing we wonder if all German towns have a Market Hall...... We shall see
Towards the border of Denmark and Germany we stop over night at a lovely place called Töpferhaus a five star hotel on the banks
Amsterdam
Delph, pottery shop.typical Dutch pottery of a quite lake and breathtaking view with a exception restaurant and chef, oh life's cruel I could have spent a week their but my waistline couldn't. It's nice to not worry what you eating although in the UK and Ireland we put at least 5 kilo on just to stay warm and the beer and cider you have to experience, but we are now back to behaving ourselves only the odd occasion we are naughty. We have done very well considering the cuisine in each country's gastro delights.Traveling up through Jutland in Denmark's west and staying three says in Aarhus we day tripped each day. Agriculture everywhere and Poppy fields and cornflowers all grown for medicines. The sand dunes and vast beaches in the north Scaghan then traveling to Copenhagen for four days to visit Zealand and surrounds, Castles and Vikings history. As a child my father read me Han Christian Andersen fairy tales my favourite The Little Mermaid I have always wanted to see The Little Mermaid statue which sits at the head on the Copenhagen Port she greets the seafarers and welcomes them into Copenhagen. She was truly beautiful and made me very happy. Wonderful Wonderfull Copenhagen
Amsterdam
Well we can be sure this shop as things well covered for those who know the song.No sign of Princess Mary or the children or even Frederick but the royal place was just lovely. We even went to the island in Copenhagen called Christiansen Island which isn't Danish at all, its a island unto its own and hippos took it over in the 70s and now it belongs just hipsters and druggies, the drug side of town it is quite scary, as all dealers have face masks on and the smell of dope fills the air it is all around. didn'tfeel quite safe and glad when we got out of the ghetto, although we didn't take any photos as requested we saw no trouble from people who were enjoying them selfs. Today we have traveled down Zealands Coast. South to Gedser and to sail by Ferry over the Baltic Sea to Rostock in Germany and onto Berlin and more adventures hopefully a few more Market Halls too......my love to everyone, stay well and safe.w Suzanne and Glen xxxxxxx

Doubt whether you would have had any customers dad. Unless they were paying for you to get out of the window.
