Hi Guys,
Well it's taken me a while to write this seeing as i've had no internet at home but I thought it should still be done as i've managed to record every other trip i've done so here goes..
Annie and I left Gatwick on Friday night and after a 2 hour flight arrived in Denmark. We got the train to Andorra then two buses out to where we thought our Hostel was. We had a lovely old Danish Man (obviously he'd had a few) sing to us on the bus (much to his wifes embarrassment). When we finally got to our hostel and after two buses and a taxi we learnt that it was in fact closed for the night!
We got the taxi Driver to take us to the nearest hotel only to find out that there was an Olympic Games Conference on in Denmark that weekend so prices were sky high. A lovely Policeman staying in the Hotel with his fellow colleagues overheard our story and came over to help us. Turns out he'd been in the Protection Party for Obama that day. We ended up at a nice Hotel in the City so
it all worked out ok (although a few more pounds out of pocket..).
We woke up to the most amazing European Breakfast i've ever had so that lifted our moods then we headed out in the rain to explore the City. We got buses around the place and took the usual sightseeing photos and stopped along the way to escape the rain for a Hot Chocolate. We came across the coolest Cafe that had a DJ playing house music and although the Hot Chocolate was expensive (as was everything in this City!) the atmosphere was cool.
Whilst exploring we stumbled across an amazing Photography Exhibition called '100 places to remember before they disappear' it was set up to raise awareness about Climate Change and I was so taken by it that I bought the book. It showcased some really amazing Photography and it was pretty cool to see that Franz Josef Glacier and the Bay of Plenty featured in it as well.
From there we headed to the Supermarket where we purchased a nice bottle of Rose, little did we know it would be fizzy when we drank it.. Weird. Being the foodies we are Annie and
I had a great old time looking at all the different food and drink in the Supermarket before heading for a rather dodgy Danish Meal at Abalon. We couldn't complain though as we were on a bit of a budget so the Buffet of Meatballs, and Stews did the trick (and yes it was a Buffet haha).
We decided to head onto Town for '1 or 2 drinks' to check out the Nightlife and walked for a bit to Heidi's Beer Bar that Annie's friend had recommended. Whilst sipping on the cheapest drink we could find in the Pub, in walked three Guys that Annie went to School with and I knew through people from home. What should have been a quiet night ended up a rather late one but loads of fun and we certainly got a taste of the nightlife going from place to place.
It was that night that we saw so many of the beautiful Danish people as well. I'd heard the Danish were some of the most attractive in the World and i'd say I have to agree, not only the height and slim build but both Men and Women were all very
Toy Shop
Annie and I decided to test out some of the toys! trendy. Note to self -take Heels next time!
We woke up on Sunday feeling a wee bit worse for wear and headed to a local Cafe for Breakfast before heading off on our flight back to London. Although Copenhagen was horrifically expensive (we later learned it's one of the top three most expensive destinations to travel to..) we had such a fantastic time.
The people were some of the most friendly I think i've ever met, no matter where we were they would stop to chat and the bus drivers were lovely helping us with directions. The food and Nightlife were awesome and I would say the same about the place in general. Definately hope to get there again some day.
Other than that things are wrapping up here, I had a Thai Night last weekend and decorated the Lounge so i've sent some photos of that. I"ve also included some photos from the Lovebox Festival we went to in Summer, i've been pretty bad with photos lately as my Camera was dying but i've now replaced it so there's no more excuses and the quality will be much better too!
As most of you know
I'm in the process of looking for a new job and am very excited about going to Thailand and coming home in 4 weeks time!
I finally have a phoneline so i'm not completely out of touch with the world anymore -what an ordeal that was. I hope you are all well and that the sun is shining, I am currently looking out my window at a very dull sky and rain so I am planning to leave the bad weather behind!
Not long to go now folks!
Love and Miss you all and i'll see you very soon.
Olivia xx
