Mook and I traveled to Prague and Vienna last week..... and had a great time!

After a 5 hr. flight to Abu Dhabi, and a 6 hr. flight form there to Prague, we landed in Prague early Tues. morning local time. The time difference is 6 hours, so enough to give you jet lag for a day or two but also not so difficult to adjust.

During our time in Prague and Vienna the temperature ranged from 0 to 5 celsius. We had clear weather other than our second day there, when it was drizzling.

We found most of the Czechs spoke some English, and almsot all of the Austrians we met did as well, so it was not too difficult getting around. We mostly walked the city while in Prague, and in Vienna we used the U-bahn (subway) as well as the tram system as well as alot of walking.

Walking was good, because we tried to eat local food, which tended toward sausage, breads, potatoes, and was generally fattening, carb-heavy and big portions! We did find a great vegetarian restaurant while in Prague, which served veggie variations of traditional Czech food, but it's portions were huge as well.

A few places we read about which we sought out were disappointing, but we found some nice surprises on the way as well. Overall, we had a really great time.

Also, Urban may be a bit more independent after a week without his parents..... another added benefit! Next trip we plan to take him, though. This time it would've taken him out of school for too long.
