The last of my trips with the WU's Buddynetwork departed on the 25th of April. At 7am we all met in front of the University and jumped on a bus for a 6 hour trip. The bus trip kicked off with a beer at 7:15 with a Tequila shot following. A few beers later and very little on bus excitement, we pulled up for a piss-stop. Cal and I went looking for a good place to piss when we walked over the hill and were pissing looking down into a valley with a river running down the bottom. It was the best view ever. On our way back to the bus Cal noticed he had some shit or sirt on his arm so he decided to wash it off with orange juice, soap, and leaves. We arrived in Prague and went straight to our hotel. I was sharing a 2 bedroom apartment with Sam, Heath, Cal, Bryan, and Ben which already meant very little sleep. Most of the people went to the city for a look but we decided it was raining too hard so we found a restaraunt close to our hotel. Laura joined us and we had a 2
course meal and a beer for 8euro. After lunch we went and had a sleep before dinner. The first of our group dinners was very average. The dumplings were the worst part as they were basically bread with the crust cut off. We were supposed to have pancakes but they didn't have any for us. After dinner we ventured to a club for 1euro drinks. There were girls wearing very little dancing on podiums then a girl walked in topless and started to serve drinks. This was well organised by the buddynetwork and everybody left soon after. We walked along the river and went on an unsuccessful search for KFC.
On the Saturday we woke up early for breakfast then made our way to the city tour. We walked through Prague Castle and the Old town. We made our way to Charles Bridge which is a pedestrian bridge with street stalls. It was difficult walking and a very slow pace. About 2/3 of the way along the bridge Sam Parris grabbed my sleeve and said he wasn't well. I looked over and he was all white and began to shake. I dragged him over out of the crowd then
his voice went all slurred and he collapsed. We woke him up and got him a drink and quickly put him in a taxi home. Very scary moment. In the afternoon I went to a fort on the outskirts of the city. Some nice views of the river from the top. That night we went out for dinner again and this dinner was once again very average. Most of the time we played cards. We got Sam back into a taxi as he still wasn't well and then we went to our club for the night. Was a good feeling walking in and hearing some Midnight Oil. We quickly drank some Red Bull and Vodkas then proceeded to dance to 80's and 90's music for another 5 hours. The club shut and we made our way to the tram. Halfway through the tram ride home the driver hopped out. Will then tried to drive the tram which got him slapped by the driver and thrown off.
Everybody came to breakfast very seedy Sunday morning and then we all went our seperate ways. Me and the boys decided to climb the Mini Eiffel Tower which gave us some great views
of the city. We then walked along Charles Bridge and thanked the street vendor that helped Sam the day before. After some wandering throught the city we had to make our way back. We spent the last of our Czech Dollars on alcohol at the mini market then loaded onto the bus. We started with a beer before the bus even took off then the bottom floor became the party section and the top floor was for all the Americans and Canadians sleeping. We quickly moved onto Apple Juice and Vodka then things got messy. We had some good music and a few tequila shots and plenty of stories about people sleeping like reindeers and pigs that are frightened of their owners. A few sore heads were had by the time we made it back to Vienna but the bustrip home was definately the highlight. Prague was a beautiful city which I would recommend to anybody heading to Europe.
